CARLY BRUCE
Carly is deeply passionate about helping people and is honored to be able to share in the healing process with her clients. She believes the therapeutic relationship between the client and herself is one of the most important elements in creating a safe place for healing and growth. Carly has found that clients connect with her through her accepting nature, sense of humour, and the resources she provides them during session.
Her areas of interest include grief and loss, anxiety, issues related to identity and self-worth, attachment issues,
healing trauma and PTSD, and faith related issues. Carly utilizes a variety of therapeutic modalities to help guide her work with clients that include Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Person-centered, mindfulness, and The Grief Recovery Method®.
Carly is a faith-based therapist rooted in Christianity; however, she gives her clients the choice of if or how they would like faith integrated into their treatment.
In terms of her EMDR practice, Carly completed her training in 2018 and expanded her training to include Attachment-Focused EMDR from Laura Parnell in 2019. Carly sees EMDR as a very effective clinical tool that is able to help clients get to the root of the issue much faster than traditional talk therapy. She continues to make sure her practice remains relevant by meeting with other EMDR professionals on a regular basis.
