I am a registered psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. I have been working in mental health for over 20 years supporting individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, family issues, and grief, as well as those who feel stressed or “stuck.”
We are all unique, so over the years, I have trained in different counselling approaches because there is no one-size-fits-all solution for everyone. I have training in new, cutting-edge treatments informed by neuroscience, like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Brainspotting. I also have training in more traditional “talk” therapies, like CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). I use an integration of these therapeutic approaches tailored specifically for you.
My practice is based on the principle that everyone has their own unique way of looking at the world. Your unique view comes from your experiences, good and bad, which in turn impact your feelings, choices, and actions. Sometimes those views stand in the way of living a full, happy life.
I believe we all have the innate capacity to heal and incredible inner strength to use adverse experiences to learn and grow. Sometimes we need help to do that. That is my role. But this is your story. You are the hero of your story; I only play a supporting role. I am your reliable partner and trustworthy ally. I am there to saddle your horse, or hand you the shield, or straighten your cape. And at the end of the story, you ride off, march off or fly off to live a better, fuller, happier life.
I look forward to writing that story with you.
