WENDY THOMPSON
Wendy Thompson graduated from the University of Calgary, where she was trained in psychotherapy, with a Master of Clinical Social Work (MSW) and a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW, with distinction). Prior to that she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University. Wendy specializes in working with people who have experienced trauma and adverse life events. Many of Wendy’s clients have reported they get relief from debilitating symptoms as a result of EMDR; relief they could not get from other therapies. Wendy uses the standard EMDR protocol and incorporates the Flash Technique when appropriate. This technique has been shown to significantly reduce the disturbance associated with painful memories. Wendy has worked with military, first responders, individuals impacted by motor vehicle accidents, and those who have experienced past and present trauma.
